February 2026 Member Spotlight - Nana Kwane Opoku

This month, we’re proud to highlight Nana Kwame Opoku, Inclusive Excellence Specialist in the Office of the President at Babson College and a valued member of the National Black MBA Association Boston Chapter.

In his role, Nana supports research, strategy, and key initiatives such as the Inclusive Excellence Summit—translating institutional data into insights that help advance leadership decision-making and campus-wide equity efforts. His work sits at the intersection of analytics, AI, and inclusive innovation, driven by a belief that responsible data can shape more equitable outcomes.

Originally from Ghana, Nana’s journey has been shaped by a deep commitment to solving real-world problems and addressing structural gaps in access to opportunity, capital, and technology.

One achievement he’s most proud of: serving as Director of Partnerships for the Babson Black Graduate Club, where he helped secure funding for 12 students to attend the NBMBAA National Conference, expanding access to networking, professional development, and career opportunities.

On leadership:
“Leadership is not about control, but about ownership—owning problems, outcomes, and the responsibility to create value for others. A true leader listens deeply, experiments boldly, and builds solutions that serve people, not ego.”

Nana joined NBMBAA to be part of a community rooted in identity, leadership, and collective advancement—and looks forward to deepening his engagement with the Boston Chapter as he continues to grow professionally and give back.

Advice to fellow members:
Start small and be intentional. Show up, ask questions, and find ways your skills can add value. Impact grows through consistency and service.

Outside of work, Nana enjoys reading, cooking, watching sports, and cheering on Boston teams (#GoPats #GoCelts) — and yes, you might catch him in Back Bay supporting Arsenal on the weekends.

 Favorite motto:
“The nicest tone of mediocrity is a cacophony. Anything but the best is a felony.”

Fun fact:

  1. He can name nearly all U.S. state capitals—and is determined to lock in all 50.
  2. Join us in celebrating Nana and the impact he’s making across Babson, Boston, and our NBMBAA community.
