Dear Members, Partners, and Friends of the Boston Chapter,
It is with great excitement and deep gratitude that I write to you as the newly elected President of the National Black MBA Association (NBMBAA) – Boston Chapter. I am honored to lead this next chapter of our storied organization and to build upon the legacy of excellence, empowerment, and economic advancement that has defined our community for decades.
Our local vision remains steadfast: to increase the number of successful African American professionals in the business community. The Boston Chapter serves as a dynamic resource for connecting Black executives, entrepreneurs, educators, and students across the region — sharing ideas, advancing leadership, and improving the effectiveness of Black businesses and business professionals.
As we enter this new era, I am committed to revitalizing our presence from Boston to the Berkshires, across the Cape, and beyond the North Shore. In the coming months, we will host listening sessions in local communities to hear directly from you — our members, alumni, and partners — about how we can best serve, support, and amplify your goals.
Our August Leadership Retreat set the tone for this revitalization. Together, we established key goals for “Chapter 2.0,” including:
We are equally thrilled to share that Boston will host the NBMBAA National Conference in September 2028 — marking the 50th Anniversary of this incredible movement. This historic moment will be a celebration of our city, our members, and our collective impact. The work starts now to ensure that Boston is ready to welcome thousands of professionals, students, and corporate partners for an unforgettable experience.
To our corporate allies, community leaders, and friends: we invite you to join forces with us as partners in progress. Together, we can elevate the Black professional experience, strengthen our networks, and inspire the next generation of leaders.
To our members — and those considering joining — this is your moment to re-engage, reconnect, and help shape the future of our chapter. I can’t wait to meet many of you in the months ahead as we listen, learn, and lead together.
With gratitude and purpose,
Jeannette M. Buntin
